Kids/Teen Summer Programs
Recurring Programs
Summer STEAM – Mondays at 3:30-4:30 (June 19, 26, July 3, 10, 17, 24) – registration required. Rising 2nd-5th graders
Our Summer STEAM program will include four sessions of the Science in the Summer: Be a Physicist! Program (in collaboration with the Franklin Institute and GSK) and two sessions of Art Exploration. Due to the nature of the program, we do ask that any participants that register must be able to commit to a minimum of four sessions.
Teen Hangout – Wednesdays 3:45 – 5:00 (starting June 21, end TBD) – registration required. Rising 6th – 12th graders
Library space will be made available for teens to hang out, eat snacks, play games, and make stuff. Teens are also invited to bring their own gaming devices and play against other teens.
Storytime – Tuesdays at 3:45 – 4:30 (June 20, 27, July 11, 18, 25) – registration required. Open to all ages
Storytimes this summer will focus on the theme of “All Together Now!,” including friendship, communities, families, the environment, and working together. There will be books, songs, moving around, and bubbles!
Wednesday Movie Matinee – Wednesdays at 10:30am (June 28, July 5, 12, 19, 26) – Registration not required, but encouraged. Open to all ages
Join us Wednesday mornings for fun movies based on beloved children’s books! Movies include Peter Rabbit, The Lorax, The BFG, Ferdinand, and Horton Hears a Who. Patrons are encouraged to bring a pillow/blanket to sit on and snacks/drinks of their choice!
Lego Club – Thursdays at 3:45-4:30pm (June 22, 29, July 6, 13, 20, 27) – registration required. Rising 2nd-5th graders
Junior Builders – Fridays at 3:45-4:30pm (June 23, 30, July 7, 14, 21, 28) – registration required. Preschool age children.
Come let your littles hang out with other kids while we free build with all sorts of different building materials and listen to some music! A fun, stress free afternoon for kids to let off some steam.
One-off Programs
Father’s Day Card and Craft drop in – June 17th from 10am – 1pm – no registration required
Bring the family to make some cards and a fun craft for the Dad in their life!
Talewise – Thursday June 29 at 6:30pm – Borough Hall – open to all ages – registration required
“Science Heroes: Saving Earth Together.” Science + Storytelling Show for Summer Reading 2023. In this action-packed story, two unlikely heroes work together to save their town (and the planet) from a super-polluting mastermind! Throughout the adventure, volunteers will help the performer conduct several exciting science experiments that bring this story to life! Together we’ll explore Newton’s Laws of Motion, air pressure, chemical reactions, and more!
Instrument Petting Zoo – Wednesday July 12 from 4pm-6pm – Borough Hall – open to all ages – no registration required, but encouraged.
Keep Music Alive presents a Musical Instrument Petting Zoo! Musical instruments included are guitars, keyboards, ukuleles and dozens of different percussion instruments. This event offers a fun and informal environment to spark children's interest in starting their musical journey.
Be a Physicist! Science in the Summer – Saturday July 15, 12-4pm. Rising 2nd-6th grade. Registration Required. Children who are already registered for Summer STEAM should not register for this program since we will be doing SIS at STEAM.
GSK Science in the Summer™ is a free summer education program that aims to inspire the next generation of scientists by providing opportunities for children to embody science careers, think scientifically, practice authentic science techniques, and have fun!
